Foggy Start

Damp and foggy this morning when we walked to school , yesterday's sunshine was a distant memory. I do have these lovely Amethyst earrings to show you though (The birthstone for February!) which are lovely and cheery! The thing about fog is its chilly, I don't think I've felt warm all day. But the weather report is for warmer sunny weather so bring it on

This pendant to me looks like a spring bouquet with teeny weeny little fw pearls, rose quartz, amethyst and peridot. I have a feeling I am pining for the change of seasons, or maybe I'm just thinking ahead! I've included the picture of it hanging so you can see how sweet it is.

Of course today I have been oxidising so, todays blog may be sweet and cheery but in a few days expect to see some darker pieces, including another bangle and bracelet! But tomorrow, fingers crossed I have a beautiful bracelet to show you - I will be very torn to sell this one I can tell you!

Where was it??

So did you get any?? SNOW I mean! We had nothing , well nothing is slightly wrong as although we didn't really get snow we did get every other weather condition the UK can throw at us! Rain, wind, hail, sleet, sun, cloud, more hail, more sleet, and so it went on. My poor dd was waiting all day for the snow she thought we had been told we were getting!! Luckily lunch out with Mamma and Gump saved me from a few hours of moaning! We had lunch in a pub by the sea - watching the waves and headland across the bay was amazing - sadly I had no camera so no pics to show.

If you have any snow pics on your blogs please let me know - I can at least show Elli, luckily she enjoys seeing pics as well as enjoying the real thing!
Today I made some chains ready for my gemstone order which I hope will arrive Tuesday of this week, I'm also hoping for a artisan glass charm bracelet - again if my supplies turn up. In fact I have quite a few pieces waiting for supplies so there will be lots to show in the next couple of days - and this time I promise *cough {without fingers crossed} to try and post every other day at least. I have an excuse though - you are all keeping me way to busy creating and my blogging is going to pot!

Sometimes

Sometimes I wonder where the days go - I spend half my week looking forward to the weekend - and then then the weekend mysteriously disappears into Sunday evening and the cycle starts again!! Personally I think weekends should be 3 days long - now this isn't anything to do with having days off - you'll find me creating whatever the day of the week it is - but to do with my dh and dd (Husband and daughter) you see they just start to settle and relax and BAM it's over!

Ever since Elli started school her outlook on leaving the house has changed - before school she wanted "out out" always wanted to know what trip or friends we were going to see, what park or even shopping was an adventure. Now at the tender age of 6 (going on 16) she hates leaving the house at weekends - preferring to "relax Mummy" Now is this because she loves playing on the computor or drawing her pictures of princesses, unicorns and horses or is it because the school system means she HAS to leave the house every morning and when she does come home, so many hours later she has homework and after school activities - maybe like me she likes the fact on a weekend there are no rules, no alarms and no rushing.

Hopefully this year the summer will actually arrive and stay for more than a week! Then the joy of a weekend in the garden, riding bikes and having picnics will change her idea of relaxing all over again. *sigh hurry up spring......

Wet Sunday, lazy sunday!

OH its horrible out there - the wind is howling and the rain is lashing at my windows - earlier it was hammering on the roof of my garage while I was making some new pendants for my website. The sort of weather that makes you want to hibernate, the sort of weather before Elli I would have stayed in bed with a good book and lots of cups of tea - now I would feel guilty - not only because of spending time with Elli but also a day wasted would be my first thought. E cooked a fabulous roast dinner, of course with free range chicken (For those not watching UK tv here's a link to Chicken Out )

For those of you wondering why I haven't mentioned my tooth lol well its because I'm trying to pretend its not happening - sadly now you have reminded me and I'll have to go have a glass of wine to help my nerves!!! NO honestly I can't stop whats happening so I'm trying to go with the flow - the valium I'm sure will help although I am a little worried as taking two seemed to have no greater effect than one - mind you I'm not quite sure what I was expecting!! To my dear blog friend Brandi of Caties Blue - the reason my friend gave me of not having "laughing gas" is because it is now illegal !! IT can only be given in hospitals apparently - maybe something to do with thats its a strong sedative, my friend trained with its use but said no one can include it in treatment in the UK! Boohoo!

The weather prompted me to make this necklace - chunky silver and Crystal Quartz with Isabelle Andersons beautiful artisan glass beads. Mind you it's a definate year round necklace!

Something Warm!

Brrr hasn't it gone all cold and stormy outside - walking Elli to school this morning was a battle and a half ! I felt like tying a rope around Elli's ankle just in case she did that Mary Poppins thing and took off! When Elli was about 3 and at afternoon nursery I remember walking to school with my brolly up. The wind was so strong it kept tugging it and I remember saying to my friend "Ohhh I'm gonna take off" with that a little hand came out and took my hand - tight and I mean so tight I could feel the blood leaving lol then another little hand and took hold of my coat. Looking down I saw a very worried 3 yr old and asked her what was the matter - "I don't want you to turn into Mary Poppins Mummy - she never came back!" Bless her - Mary Poppins was her favourite film - maybe she had overload;)

The above bracelet is with Carolines beautiful beads and mixed with deep Carnelian and Bali silver give a rich and warm looking bracelet don't you think?? The earrings of course are Isabelle Anderson beautiful simple earrings with a touch of Bali silver.

OHhh cold today

OHHh its been cold today and we've stayed in kind of hibernating I suppose!! We watched Narnia on the tv and we snuggled - well E and Elli did I was more moving my arms in an iroing motion lol - but yay I got close to the bottom of the pile!! Now I have a fabulously gorgeous smelling joint of beef in my oven ready for later while I actually made something yesterday (well two things) - so fingers crossed my muse WAS on on a short break!

I'm slowly working my way through my commissions to - so everyone who is waiting - I'm getting there - Its a great feeling to tick them off on my book! The above two charm bracelets are of course Caroline Hannons charm beads with a variety of fw pearls, gemstones, czech glass, crystlas and silver - Autumnal beach needs some more pictures taken but apart from that I@m really happy.

Mondays blues!

Ohhh Mondays are the hardest morning aren't they - trying to get up in the dark doesn't help nor that fact my dh switched the heating to come on AFTER I get up brrr!! I love the Autumn though I love the freshness of the air but it doesn't stop me yearning for warm mornings where I can feel the heat in the air really early in the morning - maybe having a poor summer doesn't help - can't complain though this October has been lovely and warm!

Busy busy

OK firstly apologises for the website looking so depleted I had a mammoth party last night (Thank you Jan and Rosie!!) a fabulous bunch of ladies who filled the house with laughter, and they loved my jewellery too! Many pieces have now gone to new homes so I will be extemly busy for the next two weeks I think before the next party starts!!

The weather is still beautiful here in Cornwall - I wonder by buying my new Ugg boots I've set a jinx on the weather - so of course everyone needs to thank me for the sunshine ;0)

Its been so nice to actually still be able to put Elli in her summer dresses - she loves being girly!

OK back to it - and I promise to start showing you new pieces asap

Desk Tidy day !

I had two friends and their children over today and seen they were disgusted with the state of my desk I decided I would tidy it (it was due!). Its funny how some of us can only work when the desk is clear and some can work when its in a state - in fact I think I work better when its in a mess - don't ask me why because I don't know!

The above necklace was inspired by the drive down the new bypass - the view over the bay is spectacular - usually blue skies is the best - when the sea is blue and inviting. I can't remember which day it was but there was low lying clouds giving a mysterious fug to the headland and it reminded me of Isabelle's beads - mysterious.

I've been quite busy today so hope your looking forward to a few more days of new goodies!

M.I.A

Sorry I've been missing in action for a few days but with my Birthday and today my baby was sixth (where has the years gone) I haven't had a lot of time ( my lovely E was away playing golf too!) on the computor! We were so lucky with the weather today as its definately been a day of sun and showers, and Jemma from The Drama Experiance, did a fantastic job keeping the children entertained (and then the children entertained us!)

The piece of jewellery shown above is chainmaille - it is in fact my first ever piece because although I admire chainmaille I have to say I find it very regimented for me (personal taste) until my friend Jennifer Casady tempted me with her flip flop weave and oh boy now I'm hooked!! Go take a look at Jen's beautiful and elegant jewellery - I dare you not to be tempted! I already had intrest for more bracelets (this one is mine though!!) so watch this space!

Beneath the Sea

I think I've fallen in love with this bracelet - I only finished her last night, a burnt finger and thumb later! The colours on Isabelles lampwork beads are magical - like a rainbow as you move your arm. The twirly bits (Or ding dongs as my friend Deedee calls them!) are made from fine silver and that was how I burnt myself - should have gathered it was hot lol!

TOday we've been to Dairyland (a fun park including farm animals and tractors!) Elli had a friends party and its too far to go and drop her there - so two coffees later and it was still raining - luckily there is an indoor soft play area where we all went - it was so busy and I felt really sorry for all the holiday makers trying hard to find something in the dry because of the horrendous weather we've been having :(

Capolino

I had a relatively queit day yesterday so I managed to get some pieces done - I love it when something just clicks together - from the moment I purchased these beads I just "knew" what to do with them!!

The beads are a blue with amythest and sky blue glass and mixed with Karen Hill Tribe they are just delicious!!

I know I didn't want to mention the weather AGAIN but trully there isn't much else to talk about - there are flood everywhere and the poor people whose homes have been invaded by the smelly water must be beside themselves. It really does break my heart to see them on the tv news.

Although here in Cornwall the weather has been atrocious we haven't see that many floods - can you believe its nearly July - WE NEED SOME SUN!!!! Come on everyone do a sun dance - Ohhhh great name for my next piece!!!!

How depressing!

The weather here in the UK stinks - its wet and windy and more like March than June and everybody you speak to seems to be depressed or low because of it - where is the sun???

Tomorrow I was supposed to be having my hair cut but friends from Spain (My old boss when I worked in a photographers) are here for a week and they asked to see me - I can't wait I haven't seen them for 4 yrs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (scary thought I probably weigh a lot more since I last saw them )

I have been busy making I still have commissions coming out of my ears (I finish one and get more - not that I'm complaining its definately keeping me busy!!)

I'm still here!!!

I've had this hayfever thing which is driving me potty - well I think it is - cold, headaches , lethargy so there's something up and this has been going on for 3 weeks now :'(

Anyway the website has changed a little I've changed the sections - Sea gems, Earth Gems, Glass gems which seems to go more with Gemheaven - comments are much appreciated ;)

I have made something for the Sea gems section - this is where everything which is inspired by the sea and beaches around me here in Cornwall.

This one is Rashleigh Pebbles - named after the local village of Charlestown where there is a fabulous pebbley beach - great history here too which I will try and write a bit for the website ...later
